What are training phrases and why are they important?

You can add multiple questions or phrases under "Questions" in the Knowledge Base to make your AI smarter.

Training phrases, or alternate phrases, are extra variations of a question added to a question-answer pair. They are crucial because your AI tutor uses Natural Language Processing to identify and group similar sentences when students ask questions. Hence, each question in the Knowledge Base should include at least two similar sentences. To add multiple training phrases, click “Edit” for your question in the Knowledge Base.

Add in at least two new questions under “Questions” as training phrases. You can reword the question or write a phrase. Don’t forget to click "Enter" after adding each question and click Save! We have added two new training phrases as examples for the question below. 

You can also use the new feature to quickly create training phrases. By clicking the  "Generate Variations" button, it will automatically produce related training phrases for the main question!

Keep in mind that the more training phrases, the smarter your AI Tutor will be!
