Release Notes (2 Aug 2023)
Walter the AI tutor now extracts learning outcomes!
Walter is getting smarter! Now, he can identify the most important points in your learning material by generating learning outcomes and creating Q&As for your knowledge base. This is a huge time-saver and the Q&As will reflect the learning outcomes.
Generate Q&As directly from URLs
Tired of saving webpages as PDFs to create QA pairs? Now you can generate Q&As directly from URLs! Simply paste the URL in the “Website Address” field on your knowledge base and click “Extract from Website(s)”. Our platform will extract the most important information from the page and create Q&A pairs for you.
See the time and date of old notifications
Old notifications are now more transparent: You can now see the time and date of notifications that are more than a day old. This is great for keeping track of previous actions you’ve taken on the platform, or for just satisfying your curiosity.
To see the time and date of an old notification:
- Click on the notification bell in your notification center
- The time and date will appear in the notification pop-up
Disable/enable “Answer questions” and “Reports” tab on student webchat
Tailor Walter to your specific needs with the ability to toggle the “answer questions” and “reports” tabs on or off. This is a great way to customize the platform to fit your teaching style.

Refine your knowledge base with uploaded documents
Revisit uploaded documents to build more knowledge for your AI assistant. This gives you more control over your knowledge base and you can easily come back to your uploaded documents to create new QA pairs.
This is perfect for busy days, too. If you're in a rush, upload your documents first and then come back later to create QA pairs for tutoring flows and quizzes. This way, students can start asking questions right away and you can continue to improve your knowledge base over time. Personalized and efficient!
Distractors: The new way to make your multiple-choice questions more fun
Feel that your multiple-choice questions are too easy? Want to challenge your students and make sure they're really learning the material? Then, you’ll need the distractors!
Our new distractor generator uses a variety of techniques to create plausible and misleading answer choices, making it harder for students to simply guess the correct answer! For example, Walter might identify common errors or misconceptions that students make on the topic, or he might modify the correct answer in terms of sign, unit, order, or magnitude.
