LMS Integration Guide for Blackboard
LTI v1.3 Integration
Noodle Factory will provide the following information:- Client ID
Setup LTI Tool Provider in Blackboard
Step 1: Add an LTI 1.3 Tool Provider
- On the Administrator Panel, under Integrations, select LTI Tool Providers.
- Select Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool
- In ENTER CLIENT ID form, enter value we provided in Client ID input and click on Submit
- Under TOOL STATUS, some values are already prefilled. In Tool Status, tick on checkbox Approved
- Under INSTITUTION POLICIES > User Fields to Send, select all the checkboxes:
- Role in Course
- Name
- Email Address
6. Click on Submit to add the LTI 1.3 tool
Step 2: Get deployment ID and share with Noodle Factory
- Navigate to the LTI Tool Providers page.
- Hover over Walter Chatbot - noodlefactory.ai, click on the arrow, and select Manage
Deployments - Copy and share with us the value for Default deployment ID, so we can complete the
configuration in Noodle Factory
Enabling the external tool for a course
Step 3: Enable the tool in a course
- Navigate to a course page
- Turn on Edit Mode
- Click on Content in the left sidebar
- Hover over Build Content dropdown, and select Walter Chatbot
- Set the name for the content, for example set name as “Walter Chatbot”
- Click on Submit to complete adding the tool to the course
Complete setup in Noodle Factory
- In the Noodle Factory Admin Portal, go to the Users tab from the navigation menu at the top of the page
- To create a class, click on Classes, click on +Add, name the class accordingly and click Save
- Click on Edit class, and click on + Add next to Manage Class
- Select Blackboard from the dropdown menu and log in to your Blackboard account.
- From the dropdown, select the course you would like to link and click on Link Course.
Testing out as a student
To test the setup, log in to the LMS as a student. Go to the course page and click on the
Walter Chatbot link. The bot you have set up should appear and you should be able to use
the bot directly from within the LMS. There should not be a need to log in separately to the
bot.
