How to generate question-answer pairs from a website?

You can summarize and generate question-answer pairs from websites by using URLs. It is even possible to use up to three URLs.

Here is a video demonstrating how to generate question-answer pairs from a URL.

  1. Go to Knowledge
  2. Create a module, if needed. Then click "+Add" then "Create from document"
  3. Click "Website Address(URL)"
  4. Enter your URL
  5. Organize your pages into sections as websites often have numerous links and advertisements. After clicking "Save and Proceed," choose the module in which you want to save the document.
  6. Choose between a single summary or individual summaries for each file.
  7. Select the desired summary length and click "Summarise".
  8. Take a break while Walter works its magic.
  9. Review the summarised document and click "Save Document".
  10. Save the summary to the module of your choice.
  11. Click "Generate Question & Answer Pairs".
  12. Input the number of tutoring or socratic questions you want Walter to create.
  13. Explore what Walter has created for you and edit them as you see fit. Remember, Walter is your TA!
  14. Once you're happy with the Q&A pairs click "Save to Knowledge Base".
  15. Select the module to save it to and click "Save and Create Flow" to link up the questions.

Now that you have successfully generated Q&A pairs from a URL, you have the option to review the automated quiz in Quizzes or create your very own quiz!
