How can I create a knowledge base with Walter?

Here is a short video showing you how to create and manage your knowledge base (with or without a Q&A flow). This knowledge base is what you will use to engage your students in a guiding tutoring flow. You can also use this knowledge base to create quizzes and assessments.

  1. In the admin portal, go to the "Knowledge" tab.
  2. Click on the "+ Add" to create a module. Name your module accordingly and click "Create"
  3. Click to the module you have created and click on "Click to Build Knowledge".
  4. Drag and drop your document(s) into Walter.
  5. Section your documents and click "Save and Proceed".
  6. Choose between a single summary or individual summaries for each file.
  7. Select the desired summary length and click "Summarise".
  8. Take a break while Walter works its magic.
  9. Review the summarised document and click "Save Document".
  10. Give your summary a name and click "Next".
  11. Save the summary to the module of your choice.
  12. Click "Generate Question & Answer Pairs".
  13. Input the number of tutoring or socratic questions you want Walter to create.
  14. Explore what Walter has created for you and edit them as you see fit. Remember, Walter is your TA!
  15. Once you're happy with the Q&A pairs click "Save to Knowledge Base".
  16. Select the module to save it to and click "Save and Create Flow" to link up the questions.

Ta-da! ✨ Your knowledge base is now set up, and Walter is ready to assist you with grading, tutoring, and other critical tasks.
