      Enhanced Admin Integration with Canvas LMS for (new!)

      The latest integration with Canvas LMS enables faculty to seamlessly access Noodle Factory Admin portal directly from within their Canvas course pages.

      The latest integration with Canvas LMS allows faculty to seamlessly access Noodle Factory tools directly from their Canvas course pages. This streamlined experience removes the need for separate login credentials or navigating to a different website, making it easier for faculty to adopt and use Noodle Factory.

      Key Features of the Enhanced Integration:

      1. Walter AI Tutor Icon Visibility: The Noodle Factory Walter AI Tutor icon now appears by default on all Canvas course pages, providing quick access to Noodle Factory features.

      2. Automated Setup of AI Tutors: On the first click of the Walter AI Tutor icon for a specific course page, a new AI tutor agent is created. The system automatically maps the agent to that course/class ID, simplifying setup for faculty.
      3. Content Integration: Faculty can leverage course content—including files, pages, and documents—within their Canvas LMS as a knowledge base for their AI Tutor. This enables the AI Tutor to deliver course-relevant support to students.
      4. Single Sign-On with LTI 1.3: Faculty can access the Noodle Factory admin portal without a separate login and password. The integration uses LTI 1.3 standards, providing secure, single-sign-on access through Canvas.

      How to Set Up Enhanced Integration

      ONLY THE SUPERADMIN FOR YOUR INSTITUTION NEEDS TO DO THE FOLLOWING ONCE.

      You will need Superadmin rights for Noodle Factory and Administrator rights for Canvas LMS.

      1. Go to the upper right corner of admin portal and click the dropdown.

      2. Click on Integrations

      3. Follow the steps listed in order. You will need to copy/paste variables back and forth so be sure to have a separate window open for Canvas.

      FAQs:

      1. Can I change the placement of the Walter AI Tutor icon? 

      Yes, you can, at the institution level! However, the current default on the right navigation is the ideal placement as the left navigation should be used for the AI Tutor icon for students.

      2. Can I change or remove the Walter image for the icon?

      The image can be changed at the institution level. The superadmin can replace the image with any image. This is done in the JSON. 

      3. Does this mean that there will be a separate agent for each course in Canvas?

      Yes, as long as the faculty clicks into Walter AI Tutor admin from Canvas course page - a new agent will be created. However, a single agent may be mapped to multiple courses. This is done by:

      - Navigate to Users - Classes 

      - Add New Class

      - Select the class you just added - Edit Class

      - Add LMS integration - Canvas - Course ID

      4. Does faculty need to do anything to enable access for their students?

      Yes, by default, Walter AI Tutor is hidden from students and faculty will need to enable Walter AI tutor on their Canvas course page so students can access it directly from within the course. See link below.
