The latest integration with Moodle LMS enables faculty to seamlessly access Noodle Factory Admin portal directly from within their Moodle course pages.

The latest integration with Moodle LMS allows faculty to seamlessly access Noodle Factory tools directly from their Moodle course pages. This streamlined experience removes the need for separate login credentials or navigating to a different website, making it easier for faculty to adopt and use Noodle Factory.

Key Features of the Enhanced Integration:

Walter AI Tutor Visibility: When the faculty member clicks to "Add an activity or resource" - they will see Walter AI Tutor as an external tool they can add.

Once added, Walter AI Tutor now appear as an activity or resource, providing quick access to Noodle Factory features. Note that the Walter AI Tutor needs to be added individually to every course page.
Automated Setup of AI Tutors: On the first click of the Walter AI Tutor icon for a specific course page, a new AI tutor agent is created. The system automatically maps the agent to that course/class ID, simplifying setup for faculty.
Content Integration: Faculty can leverage course content—including files, pages, and documents—within their Moodle LMS as a knowledge base for their AI Tutor. This enables the AI Tutor to deliver course-relevant support to students.
Single Sign-On with LTI 1.3: Faculty can access the Noodle Factory admin portal without a separate login and password. The integration uses LTI 1.3 standards, providing secure, single-sign-on access through Moodle.

How to Set Up Enhanced Integration

ONLY THE SUPERADMIN FOR YOUR INSTITUTION NEEDS TO DO THE FOLLOWING ONCE.

You will need Superadmin rights for Noodle Factory and Administrator rights for Moodle LMS.

1. Go to the upper right corner of admin portal and click the dropdown.

3. Follow the steps listed in order. You will need to copy/paste variables back and forth so be sure to have a separate window open for Moodle.

1. Can I change the placement of the Walter AI Tutor link?

It can only be added as an Activity or Resource currently.

2. Does the faculty or admin need to enable the Walter AI Tutor link for every course page?

Yes, the faculty or admin needs to add the Walter AI Tutor link as an activity or resource to every course page. It is recommended to publish an announcement to let all faculty members know that there is a new External tool available so they can add it themselves if they want to explore Walter AI.

3. Does this mean that there will be a separate agent for each course in Moodle?

Yes, as long as the faculty clicks into Walter AI Tutor admin from Moodle course page - a new agent will be created. However, a single agent may be mapped to multiple courses. This is done by:

- Navigate to Users - Classes

- Add New Class

- Select the class you just added - Edit Class

- Add LMS integration - Moodle - Course ID

4. Does faculty need to do anything to enable access for their students?

Yes, by default, Walter AI Tutor is hidden from students and faculty will need to enable Walter AI tutor on their Moodle course page so students can access it directly from within the course. See link below.
