Creating and Managing Conversation Flow

Tutoring flows guide students down a flow of information, so that they stay engaged.

Essentially, tutoring flows are button prompts that guide students to the next piece of knowledge they should know. Think of it like a tutoring conversation tree.

To effectively manage the tutoring flow, you can utilize the Conversation Flow. This video guide below walks through how to add knowledge and quizzes to the flow.

By default, knowledge you have created is not added to the conversation tree, meaning students will have to ask specific questions to access the answers. However, there won't be any buttons guiding them down this particular path.

To add the tutoring questions and make them visible to students, go to the Conversation Tree and follow these steps:
  1. Start by going to the "Conversation Flow" tab.
  2. Search for your module related questions, and you'll see all the questions that have been created about Mars.
  3. Select the desired question, such as "What is Mars' atmosphere?"
  4. Drag and drop it into the tutoring flow, typically below the welcome message.
  5. The selected question will be added to the tutoring flow, ensuring that students are presented with it when they enter.

Now when students start a session, they will receive a welcome message and see three possible buttons, one of which will be related to Mars.
They can choose the Mars option and follow the guided pathway you've created in the knowledge base.

If you have previously created a quiz, you can also add it to the tutoring flow.

  1. To do so, click on "Quizzes," locate the Mars quiz, and add it to the end of the tutoring flow.

This placement allows students to explore the tutoring flow, engage with the Mars-related content, and conclude with the quiz. However, you can choose to position the quiz at the beginning or in multiple locations within the tutoring flow if desired.

Remember that all changes made to the conversation flow are saved by default, so you don't have to take any additional steps. Once you're all set, test your setup
